Torrens Connect takes health and safety seriously – of our customers, our employees, and those around the rail corridor.

Our employees – especially our tram operators – are vital. Without them, the people of Adelaide would be without one of their most efficient public transport options.

So: what is Torrens Connect doing during this latest outbreak of Covid-19?

Non-essential staff will be working from home. This is to limit the number of people coming into the depot to reduce the risk of infection for our frontline operators.

Our Customer Service Officers will still be out to assist.

All Torrens Connect employees are advised to maintain social distancing and regular hand hygiene.

Trams continue to be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis – as they have been since the initial outbreak.

And we would ask all of our customers to be mindful about social distancing. During peak hours, trams come every 5 minutes, so if you’re concerned about the number of people on a tram, please wait for the next one.

In the interests of our customers, Torrens Connect follows advice issued by SA Health and acts as directed by the Department of Infrastructure and Transport.

There will be no changes to current tram services.
